The big data revolution is well underway, and Mara Reiff wants to make sure small businesses aren’t left behind. With over fifteen years of experience in tech and telecom, she’s garnered international recognition for her work in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. Now as Chief Data Officer at FreshBooks, one of the world’s leading cloud accounting software providers, she’s working to ensure businesses of every size can compete in the era of big data.
Mara holds an MBA from the University of Toronto as well as undergraduate degrees in applied mathematics and chemical engineering. She’s worked as an in-demand tech industry consultant, held multiple director and executive-level positions at a $50B telecom, and even spent time as a bioprocess engineer at the world’s largest vaccine-specific biotech company. Last year she was recognized as one of IBM’s Global Women Leaders in AI. Most impressive of all if you ask her? She’s the mother of two smart, spirited children.
Before joining FreshBooks, Mara served as Vice President of Strategy and Business Intelligence at telecom behemoth Bell Canada, where she was accountable for driving the organization’s artificial intelligence programs. At FreshBooks, she’s leveraging that expertise and experience to conquer a new challenge — giving small businesses the strategic edge they need to compete in the data-dominated 21st-century marketplace.
