Lance is a General Partner at Graphite Ventures, with a Canadian tech market Seed Stage investment focus, helping founders to set a growth trajectory to build portfolio companies into successful global businesses.

Graphite Ventures has a current portfolio of over 45 companies, with Lance’s investments including e-Zinc, ODAIA, Protexxa, SalonScale, Remitian and Welbi. He is also an advisor and investor in StandUp Ventures.  Lance serves on the Board of Expertfile, as an Observer on several other Boards, and is also an Angel Investor.    From 2009 to 2021 Lance was part of the investment team at MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund as Sr. Investment Director and Managing Director.  Experience also includes Executive Chairman at Granite Networks, which was acquired by Rogers Communications in 2013. From 2001 to 2008, he was President and CEO of BTI Systems, a cloud and metro networking software company, later acquired by Juniper Networks. Earlier, Lance founded the Canadian subsidiary of HUBER+SUHNER, a global wireless and optical component manufacturer.
