Brenda’s motto throughout her entire professional journey has been “Don’t wait for an opportunity, create it yourself.” She pursued her CPA designation to obtain the skills necessary to create opportunities for herself to pursue meaningful work.
She started her career at PwC as a co-op student in Risk Assurance and has been with the firm for over 10 years. The foundation of her portfolio consists of SOC Reporting, IT audits, Controls optimization and readiness assessments. During her tenure at the firm, she has explored a number of different avenues, including upskilling herself in data analytics. She led a team to build digital solutions to transform the way we can audit IT systems. Brenda also used this skillset to build digital solutions to innovate the way we approach integral strategic initiatives, and has most recently scaled her solutions nationally. She has always worked in disruptive areas such as blockchain and cryptocurrency. She immerses herself in new and growing areas of the firm, currently leading PwC Canada’s AI Trust practice.
As a woman and a visible minority, diversity, inclusion and mentorship are areas that she is very passionate about. She graduated from PwC’s Women in Leadership Program and is heavily involved in recruiting activities. She is also a Coach and CPA Mentor.
