Andre Charoo

Andre was one of the first 25 employees at Uber and Hired. He launched Uber in Canada and Hired in 17 markets across 6 countries.

Today, he runs Maple VC, a pre-seed and seed stage fund based in Silicon Valley and investing in Canadian founders building in America. Historically, these Canadians have created some of the biggest companies in tech — Uber, OpenAI, Slack, Databricks, Roblox, Cloudflare and more. By being positioned outside of Canada, Maple can uniquely help its founders who are based inside the country expand to the US. In addition, Maple helps its portfolio companies win with a bench of operating partners who were one of the first 25 employees at the biggest companies in tech including Stripe, DoorDash, Slack, Flexport, Airbnb and more.

Andre was previously the Co-Chair of the C100 and started his career in investment banking in the US and UK. Andre grew up in Markham, Ontario and graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Toronto.
