Over 10 years in the TMT sector, primarily focused on M&A and equity financing for tech and media companies. Aly has worked on a number of technology transactions ranging from $50mm to $1bn in size across the social media, mobile commerce, IP licensing and cloud computing sectors. Aly has end-to-end transaction experience from sourcing to valuation to execution and post-merger integration.
Aly began his career as a strategy consultant in the TMT sector where he worked on a number of post-merger integration projects. After completing my MBA at LBS, Aly joined RIM in their Corporate M&A group, where he led 4 deals including the acquisition of QNX, the Company’s revolutionary new mobile platform. After completing two years at RIM, Aly joined CIBC World Markets in their TMT Investment Banking group. As an Associate in the group, Aly worked on 4 live deals within a year including a hostile bid for an IP licensing company as well as the pending acquisition of a national data center company. His role at CIBC focused on sourcing clients and deal execution including financial modeling and valuation analysis.
